Osea Anti-Aging Body Balm
I have spent a lot of my life in the sun. I use sun protection now, but I wasn't always so careful, and my skin is just starting to show it. I want any skin that was showing to look as youthful as possible. I smooth a few pumps of this on my chest after every shower, and my skin looks great. You can of course, use it all over, but I wanted to make it last! Using it when your skin is still damp from a shower help make the product go farther. This also cleared up some weird dry skin issues I was dealing with in the spring. It feels great, it looks great, it's cruelty free, and made with clean ingredients. I was very confident about my skin on my wedding day, and I will definitely be purchasing another bottle of the balm!
Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil
My wedding dress was form fitting and I wanted to try anything that would help me look SMOOTH. I came across this oil and decided to give it a try. I slathered in on after a shower, right before bed, and saw noticeable results in the morning. My thighs definitely seemed less lumpy. Who doesn't love that?!
Planning a wedding is stressful and tiring, and my eyes were starting to show it. I tried all kinds of undereye creams, serums, and gels. Nothing worked as well as these gel patches! They were my absolute miracle product. I used these before every shower, rehearsal dinner, and the morning of my wedding right before my makeup went on. They are incredible! Skyn Iceland is totally vegan, and Logical Harmony-approved! Their products are free of parabens, petroleum, mineral oil, chemical sulfates, and phthaletes.
Weleda Calendula Diaper Rash Cream
Ok, hear me out before you judge. Diaper rash cream is great for acne. The active ingredient in most diaper creams is zinc oxide, which is a common ingredient in products used to treat skin inflammations like eczema, rosacea, and acne. This cream also contains calendula and chamomile, both super soothing for irritated skin. Unlike other diaper cream brands, this one does NOT contain petroleum (which would definitely clog your pores). Plus, Weleda has a really great brand philosophy. My skin was having some hormone-related issues in the days leading up to my wedding, and I'm convinced that using this as an overnight mask totally prevented a skin catastrophe.
Parissa Wax Strips for Sensitive Skin
I was certainly not interested in a wedding mustache. I've had bad reactions to hair-removal products in the past so I need something that is gentle on my sensitive skin. Parissa works beautifully and agrees with my temperamental skin. All of their products are USDA certified organic and leaping-bunny approved cruelty free.
Snapwhite Teeth Whitening Kit
Of course I wanted my teeth to be white! I knew I'd spend a lot of my wedding day smiling! And I did. Snapwhite is totally vegan and Logical-Harmony approved. A quick check of the ingredients on the Environmental Working Group's cosmetics database told me that the whitening gel is pretty safe for me and the environment, and the price was great too. I experienced some mild sensitivity but saw major results. My teeth were the whitest they'd ever been on my big day.
Year of No Sugar: A Memoir by Eve Schaub
I was hoping to drop a few lbs before the big day but wasn't entirely optimistic about having success. I've always had a sweet tooth and suspected that was what made it difficult to for me to lose weight. Eve Schaub's book breaks down the science of why sugar is poison, and why eating sweets makes you gain weight. It was easy for me to cut sugar out of my diet and find replacements to keep my sweet tooth satisfied. I often struggle with non-fiction but genuinely enjoyed reading this book. I hoped to lose 5-10 lbs before the wedding but ended up losing closer to 20 in just about four months. Now that the wedding is over, I'll continue to avoid sugar and find that I don't miss it all that much. Whether you struggle with weight or not, I recommend this book to anyone who wants to better understand the food you put into your body.
